Editing IDocs content
Sometimes (mainly in development and test environments), you may need to update manually the content of an IDoc before sending it over to another system or before posting it in a recipient system.
This function is available in SAP ERP but not that easy to find. That’s why I mention it hereafter.
The first step is to display the IDoc. This screen can be reached by starting transaction WE05 and double clicking the relevant IDoc in the resulting list.
In the IDoc display screen, it is then necessary to double click the icon in front of the relevant IDoc data segment (don’t double click the segment name itself as it doesn’t work) like in the screen below. IDoc Display
This action brings you to the IDoc data record display screen which shows the data content of the IDoc and allows its edition by selection the menu option |Data record| > |Display->Change|.
